Key Responsibility Areas

Business Development (60% of the time)

  • Assist in preparing growth strategy and plans for the foundation. Work towards the same with the leadership team
  • Build and manage relationships with social sector clients – CSR, philanthropic organization, international agencies, government. Ensure upselling and cross selling
  • Write business proposals/presentation
  • End to end BD & project execution cycle – lead generation to closure
  • Work on industry specific solution
  • Negotiate with stakeholders
  • Identify & map business strengths and customer needs
  • Search business opportunities with viable income & increase the client base.
  • Networking, partnership and collaboration
  • Identify new areas other than skilling where Centum Foundation can work under CSR, philanthropy and government welfare programs
  • Identify new areas within skilling, entrepreneurship, education, public health, research where Centum Foundation can work
  • Work in coordination with other business verticals and key functions – Finance, HR, Admin, IT etc.

Project Management (30% of the time)

  • Overall management and execution for the projects
  • Maintaining and preparing proper reports to be shared with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely & quality implementation of projects. Focus on adding value
  • Guide team members towards work execution and pitch-in wherever required
  • Address operation/implementation related bottleneck/challenge
  • Managing Internal Audits for Process, Product & System to ensure process compliance

Thought leadership (10% of the time)

  • Work/publication of thought notes
  • Participate in knowledge/discussion forums, representing foundation work

Any other work assigned by the reporting manager or Head of Centum Foundation.

Essential Attributes

  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in social sector/business consulting
  • Should be at least a MBA/PG from a reputed institution
  • Good Communication (speaking and writing) skills in English. Reading & speaking ability in Hindi
  • Experience of preparing/writing winning proposals for CSRs/government tenders/multilateral development agencies.
  • Target oriented with proven track record of achieving business/fund raising targets
  • Networking, partnership and collaboration skills with proven ability of having strategic partnership/s in the past.
  • Should be proficient in using Microsoft Office especially excel, power-point
  • Thematic experience in any two areas – entrepreneurship/livelihood, education, public health, research water & sanitation, rural/village development.
  • Should have led a team of professional. Team building skills with proven ability of nurturing & mentoring teams in the past.
  • Good connects in the social sector esp. with the CSR, philanthropic organizations, institutional donors, NGOs, Government departments etc.

Desirable Attributes

  • Leadership skills with ability to establish short & long term goals for the business vertical
  • Dealing with complexity and ability to lay down clear road maps on the current operation and growth of the vertical
  • Ability to build in best practices and innovative approach in work stream
  • Functional knowledge – Social Research (assessment studies), Project Designing (participatory planning process, LFA, RBM, Theory of Change)
  • Understanding of funding pattern and trend in the industry
