Centum Learning participates in East Africa Com 2014

Centum Learning, Kenya participated in the East Africa Com 2014 hosted by Airtel Kenya. The summit took place on September 9th and 10th, 2014 in Nairobi, Kenya where discussions were held on “Kenya Tops in Internet Connectivity”.

East Africa Com 2014 was the hub to meet the ‘crème de la crème’ of East Africa’s mobile and digital ecosystem. Sessions included industry intelligence, case studies and interactive panel discussions on the core topics affecting this market like Operator Strategies, Mobile Money, Mobile Broadcasting Evolution, Connecting East Africa and a lot more. Centum Learning leveraged the forum- ‘Speed Networking sessions’ to the hilt for introducing Centum Learning individually to key stakeholders.

Making Vocational Education Desirable

Centum Learning represented by Mr. Sanjay Chandhoke, Sr. Vice President, Professional Education and Training, participated in the ICT based orientation programme on “NSQF, Community College Scheme and other Skill Development Schemes of Govt. of India”. The event was organized by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh on 21-25 July, 2014. The live telecast of the programme benefited 300 participants across different locations. The theme of the session was “Bridging the Skill Gap”.

Addressing the session, Mr. Chandhoke said: “If we want to make a success of the skill development movement, it is important to make vocational education desirable.” He further shared Centum Learning’s interventions, best practices, learning outcomes and the strategic direction Centum Learning has undertaken to create a skills ecosystem in partnership with NSDC, Sector Skill Council and various organizations to address this issue. …

Innovating to build employable workforce

Centum Learning, represented by Dr. Raj Dravid – COO & Head Operations – Africa & Middle East, participated in AidEx Africa, a two-day high-profile conference that took place on June 5-6th 2014 at the Boma Hotel, Nairobi. The theme of the conference was ‘Innovation and Development’.

Dr. Raj Dravid addressed the session, “Where are the innovation incubators”? The other participants included Phoebe Maina – Project Manager, Translations Without Borders; Mary W Matu – Executive Chairlady, MicroClinic and Imam Qasim Rashid Ahmad – Founder & CEO, Al-Khair Foundation.

Centum Learning participates in a Knowledge Management Forum in Kenya

Centum Learning, represented by Dr. Raj Dravid – COO & Head Operations Africa & in charge of Middle East, participated in a knowledge management forum. The theme of the forum was “Winning through Knowledge Management: Institutionalizing Knowledge Management for competitive advantage”. This lecture was organized by the Kenya Institute of Management in which over 100 managers participated.
The major areas addressed in the forum were, how an organization identifies, creates and accumulates its knowledge base; how one can ensure that knowledge assets are shared in the organization and with external stakeholders and finally, what are the areas of collaboration in which an organization has invested, to develop its knowledge capacity.
Dr. Raj Dravid was supported by another speaker Mr. L.M. Musumba – leading consultant in Knowledge Management, who shared his views on the Knowledge Management Ecosystem.

Centum Learning Organizes Job Fiesta in Bihar

Centum Learning is committed to create a skilled & employable workforce in the country. Towards the same, Centum Learning recently organized job fairs in Katihar, Begusarai and Patna for students who are undergoing skill development training in Bihar under the Dashrath Maji Kaushal Vikas Yojana. More than 750 candidates from Katihar, Purnia, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Khagaria, Araria, Begusarai and Patnadistricts participated in the Centum Job Fiesta and over 500 candidates were provided with offer letters. Participating companies which included Vardhman Textile, IKF Tech, Nava Bharath, Sodexho, Aegis BPO, Eureka Forbes, NFL Ltd etc. offered salaries ranging between Rs. 5000 – Rs. 10000 per month.…

Centum Learning organized a Job Fair at Kaimur District, Bihar

Centum Learning recently organized a Job Fair at Kaimur district, Bihar for Mahadalit youth undergoing skill development training under Dashrath Maji Kaushal Vikas Yojana. More than 175 youth candidates from the districts ofAurangabad, Kaimur, Arwal and Buxer participated in the job fair. Candidates who successfully cleared the interview process were offered recruitment letters on the spot. Over 143 youth got offer in various companies including Aegis, Tatwa BPO, I Care,Vardhawan Textiles, Navbharath group etc.

Inaugurating the job fair, the District Magistrate (In-charge) Kaimur, Mr. Ajay Kumar Srivastav said, “Govt. of Bihar is very sensitive for the all-round development of SC / ST communities and have started numerous schemes for the welfare of socially marginalized Mahadalit youth”.…

Centum Learning participated in 2nd Bihar Innovation Forum


Centum Learning participated in the 2nd Bihar Innovation forum held on 30th- 31st January, 2014 at Patna, Bihar. Bihar Innovation Forum, a joint initiative of Jeevika ( Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society) and the World Bank and aims at promoting social innovators who have developed sustainable and scalable rural livelihood solutions. State Government representatives, officials from World Bank, eminent professionals and experts from diverse industry sectors, entrepreneurs and members of self help groups participated in the two day event. The event was focused around eight high impact rural livelihood themes including agriculture, livestock, financial services, rural energy, ICT based solutions, skill development & non-farm sector, access to entitlements, access to services. In the skill development category, Centum Learning bagged the runners up excellence award owing to far-reaching and widespread impact of its skill development programmes which are bringing about positive transformation in the lives of youth of Bihar.…

Scaling Skill Development Enterprises
