Centum Learning Multi-Skill Development Centre to Enable Employment Opportunities For Jehanabad Youth

Centum Learning launched a Multi-Skill Development Centre in Jehanabad in partnership with the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY). The Centre will enable employment opportunities for youth in the district. The opening of this Centre is expected to make a significant impact on making youth job ready in what is one of the most backward districts in the country. Centum Learning, India’s first skilling MNC, partnered the Ministry of Rural Development for this project.

The DDU-GKY is the skilling and placement initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. The scheme focuses on addressing the occupational aspirations of rural youth and enhancing their skills for wage employment. At the Centum Learning Multi-Skill Development Centre candidates will be skilled in two job roles – Retail Sales and Customer Care. These courses have a very high demand in market among employers.

Green Jobs in Uttarakhand: How Centum Created Opportunities For Youth via New Skilling Courses

The state of Uttarakhand is appreciated for its scenic beauty. However, it is also known to be a state where the youth face challenges due to lack of employment and learning opportunities. A significant step to remove this challenge was initiated in October 2016 when Centum Learning partnered Uttarakhand Skill Development Mission (UKSDM) to set up a Multi-Skill Development Centre for to provide training for Green jobs. The center is expected to play a significant role in enabling and mobilizing Uttarakhand youth to make them employable and work ready.

The Centum Multi-Skill Development Centre will offer skilling in only one job role – Solar Photo-Voltaic Installer – ‘Suryamitra’ which has a very high demand in the market. Centum Learning launched a Multi Skill Development Centre at Jharsuguda, Odisha partnering the Ministry of Rural Development under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY). Shri. Kishore Kumar Mohanty, Chairman, Western Odisha Development Council today inaugurated the Multi-Skill Development Centre. Several senior officials were present on the occasion including Mr. Sitaram Patel Additional District Magistrate; Mr. Satya Narayan Dash, Project Director, DRDA; Smt. Lilli Kumari Kulu Addl. Project Director, Admin; Shri Praveen Kumar, CE-DSMS, DRDA.


The Multi-Skill Development Centre will offer skilling in three job roles – Sewing Machine Operator, Retail Trainee Associate and BPO – Voice – that have a very high demand in market. Launch of Mass Mobilisation Campaign for Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY)


Centum Learning in collaboration with NSDC and COAI launch a massive Mass Mobilisation Campaign to create awareness of skill development programmes. The pilot initiative would help implement ‘Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana’ (PMKVY), the flagship outcome-based skill development scheme under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which plans to skill 24 lac youth in 2015-16 across the country.

The outreach campaign launched on June 18, 2015 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi would build awareness of the flagship scheme – Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
