Vision for India@75, envisages India to be a major player in shaping the emerging world order through economic strength, technological vitality and moral leadership by the year 2022.

Further, in 2020 the world will have a shortage of 57 million working people but Indian workforce will have a surplus of 46 million people. In order to reap the benefits of this demographic dividend, India will have to equip this manpower with requisite skills across geographies.

While India is recognized as the fastest growing nation, it still has to do more for achieving substantial growth in the grass roots level. That is why, skill-building has become the need of the hour.

Towards this end, Centum Learning limited, National Skill Development Corporation, set up under the aegis of Government of India, have come forward to bring a sustainable transformation in the employment landscape of the country.

Centum Learning Limited and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) have formed the first unique joint venture- Centum WorkSkills India Limited. TO It is the single largest organized initiative by the government and the private sector to skill 12 million people across 11 states in 383 districts by 2022.

• Providing end-to-end employability solutions including Youth Mobilisation and Counseling, Training Execution, Assessment and Certification and Placement Support.
• Engaging state implementation partners to achieve local connect, infrastructure and resources.
• Focusing on Automobile, Retail, Telecom, Building and Construction, Hospitality and Health Care sectors.
• Combining class-room learning with on-the-job training.
• Deploying domain specialists to skill people and investing in a robust assessment, certification and re-training mechanism.
• Providing relevant technical and behavioral skills as well as enhancing personal effectiveness, social awareness and building strong value systems.
• Providing placement support to skilled & certified candidates thereby generating both self and wage employment.

Thus Centum WorkSkills India strives to make people of India globally employable, harness inclusivity, promote self employment and entrepreneurship. 

• Partnering with Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Govt. of Orissa to train over 40,000 representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, across 10 districts of Orissa.
• Trained over 1100 PRI representatives in Haryana and will conduct similar programmes through the year 2011 for thousands of PRI representatives.
• Enhanced employability of tribal youth in partnership with DECT, Govt. of Assam.
• Providing vocational skills to youth comprising surrendered militants, in the Indo-Bhutan border of Assam, in association with Sashastra Seema Bal.
• Signed an MoU with Industries Directorate Employment & Training, Govt of Gujarat to establish four skill development centre in Gujarat during the year 2011 - 2012.
• Partnering with Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India to skill 24,000 people across MP & Chhatisgarh; Punjab and Himachal and Orissa.
• Empowering over 38,000 rural youth to become entrepreneurs (Rural Sales Distributors) in association with Bharti Airtel.
• Training with Bhopal Municipal Corporation under the project - Swarn Jayanti Shahri Rozgar Yojana. We are present in three districts now and shall be expanding in seven more districts in near future.
